British Antarctic Survey chooses MCT Brattberg

MCT Brattberg has been selected by the British Antarctic Survey to supply the cable entry system for their New Antarctic Research Station, Halley 6. The project comprises of the main station made up of 12 GRP modules with additional scientific huts around the site known as cabooses.

MCT Brattberg cable transits utilising GRP frames have been chosen for this task. B.A.S scientists need to add and remove cables easily and as required by the research program of any given season. They also need to prevent the Antarctic weather from reaching the living areas of the station.

The modular design of the transit system makes it easy to remove and add sealing blocks as required. The excellent insulating properties of the Lycron insert blocks ensure the elimination of thermal transfer from external to internal areas.

MCT Brattberg would like to thank the British Antarctic Survey for permission to use and supply of the associated graphic.
